With the economic woe's hitting some,now is actually a good time for gaming. With 4.0 E coming out, their are allot of 3 and 3.5 used books out their for sell. Also with allot of the "old school" books and rules,like ORSIC,Labyrinth Lord and others are out their for free,online. Most gamers,if asked, will point you in the right direction for free or damn near free gaming material.
If you have a local gaming store near you,look for a bulletin board. Most bulletin boards will have posts up with players looking for other players or they themselves are looking for a gaming group. As long as you know the system that they are playing,and have a set of dice, most GM's will have the appropriate books.
